Master Planning

A focus of our planning projects has been the promising BC interior, with mountain and golf resort projects ranging from Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf Resort near Kelowna to Jumbo Glacier Resort near Panorama, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, Whiskey Jack Golf Resort near Sparwood, the Dreamcatcher project in Kimberley and a year-round ski resort destination near Valemount, BC.   Water-orientated resort planning began with the shores of British Columbia, on Saratoga Beach on Vancouver Island, marina expansions in Vancouver, and has continued with studies for coastal and lake developments in Canada and internationally as far as the Ionian shores of Calabria, Italy.

Representative Planning Projects

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC

Master Plan, design guidelines, parks plan and environmental management plans culminating in a Master Development Agreement for the creation of a new resort of  20,000 bed units (3,500 bed units initially), a new mountain plan with a new gondola, six new chairlifts and the addition of a future golf course. The resort has received international acclaim, including from the NY Times and features Canada’s highest restaurant and a year-round sightseeing, skiing and mountain-biking gondola.

Jumbo Glacier Resort, BC

E environmental Certificate, Master Plan, and Master Development for a new ski resort for 6,250 bed units, including mountain planning for ski runs and ski lifts. The project underwent Canada’s most complex approval process and is the first and only ski resort to receive an environmental certificate under British Columbia’s Environmental Assessment Act. The project is groundbreaking in concept and design and will feature North America’s first year-round skiing and snowboarding. The successful completion of the approval process resulted in the creation of a Mountain Resort Municipality for the project, the first new greenfield municipality in British Columbia in over a generation.

Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf Resort, BC

Master Plan and Master Development Agreement with the Province for the expansion of Crystal Mountain near Kelowna, BC to a new year-round resort community of approximately 4,000 beds, including new ski runs, 12 new ski lifts including a  sightseeing gondola, and  and a new signature golf course.

Bellefeuille, Montreal, PQ

Planning and residential design for 240 single family dwelling development, including development and construction of prototypes.
